equipped with two sets of barrels, one pair of 1 3/8 in., .47 smoothbore barrels, and one pair of 2 3/4 in., .50 caliber barrels, each round barrel with foliate engraving at the muzzle; foliate engraved box locks with "LIVERPOOL" engraved on one side and "HOLMES" engraved on the other, the hammers with scale decoration and sliding bolt safeties, blued hidden triggers, the underside of the locks with post-1813 Birmingham proof marks; walnut grips with small rectangular thumb pieces and fine checkering, overall lg. with smoothbore barrels, 6 in.; housed in a walnut case with German silver plate on the lid and reinforcing plates on the corners and edges, opening to a green baize-lined compartmented interior with rifled barrels, barrel/nipple wrench, ebony handle turn screw, oil can, shot mold marked "210," a copper flask, a tin of "ELEYBRO" caps. and nine lead shot.
