British Pattern 1808 New Land Pattern Pistol
Circa 1808

8 7/8 in., .67 caliber round barrel with ring decoration at the breech, government proof marks on the left side and a crown over 19 inspector's mark on the right, crown over "4" inspector's mark on the breech plug tang; flat double-bridle lock with double line border engraving, pointed tail stamped "TOWER" and with crown over "GR" and crowned broad arrow below the pan, the inside of the plate with traces of bluing on the bridle, crown over "36" inspector's mark, and two sets of assembly numbers on the upper and lower edges of the plate, side nails with assembly numbers on the shafts; walnut stock with storekeeper's mark above the rear of the lock mortice, two crown over "7" inspector's marks near the trigger guard, side plate flat marked with a crown over "TA," rammer channel with trace of a crowned inspector's mark; iron swivel rammer with large disk head.
