7 3/4 in., .60 caliber round brass barrel marked on the left side of the breech with an asterisk over "RW" and with London Company of Gunmaker's proof marks, and "LONDON" on the top of the barrel; unbridled slightly convex lock with double line border, foliate engraving on the tail and cock, and "Wilson" below the pan, the sear, lock plate, and cock with "IIII" assembly numbers; walnut stock raised carved shell and scroll motif around the breech plug tang; brass furniture including a butt cap with long ears and engraved shell and scroll decoration, trigger guard with engraved leaf finial and engraved starburst on the bow, openwork foliate engraved side plate, thumb piece engraved "R/CHAMPNEYS/1768," and barrel form sheet brass rammer and entry pipes; later wood rammer with brass band tip.
