Cased Colt London Model 1851 Engraved Navy Revolver

Serial number 199, 7 1/2 in., .36 caliber octagonal barrel with small post front sight, top of the barrel marked "ADDRESS. SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY," the left side with English proof marks, and engraved with scrolling foliate decoration; the frame marked "COLT'S/PATENT" within an oval on the left side and engraved all over with scrolling foliate devices, the hammer with scale decoration; the cylinder with roller engraved naval battle scene, marked "COLT'S PATENT" and with English proof marks, silver plated square back brass trigger guard marked "2" below the serial number, and back strap with scrolling foliate engraving; figured walnut grips; all matching serial numbers on the barrel frame, loading lever, frame, trigger guard, butt, wedge is not numbered, overall lg. 13 in.; in an oak case with round brass plate on the lid, opening to a green baize-lined compartmented interior with brass topped steel cleaning rod, blued steel wrench/screw driver, copper flask marked "JAMES DIXON/& SONS/SHEFFIELD," a tin of Eley Bros. Waterproof caps, an oil can, and brass ball/bullet mold marked "COLT'S/PATENT" on the top, the inside surface of the lid with printed instructions.
