Max Labenwolf and Hans Reisinger produced numerous sculptural fountains for German ornamental gardens at the end of the 16th century. The modeling of Hercules's muscles bear similarity to on a version of Paris created in the workshop. Cerberus's upturned head is also comparable to Leaping Bear in Stuttgart.
