A Sèvres shell-shaped salt, circa 1824

Possibly after a design by Alexandre-Évariste Fragonard, the shell decorated in green and heightened in gilding supported on the head of a mythical gilt and green sea-lion with red fins, on a square gilt base, 9.5cm high, faint interlaced LL monogram enclosing a fleur-de-lys/Sevres stencilled in blue, gilt DG. 20 jn (shell and corner of base restored)
