Ablative heat shield plug specimen, December 1968, approximately 39 cm long, encased in Lucite, 75 x 91 mm, molded into the form of the Apollo Command Module from which it came, with explanatory text on verso.
Provenance: Beverly Joan Gresham, Customer Relations at North American Rockwell/Rockwell International, Space Systems Division, 1954-1999.
A specimen from one of the threaded plugs used to provide access points in the heat shield.
