STERLING CAMERA COMPANY
35mm motion picture camera, New York, 1911-1912, wooden body with metal binding, 353 x 161 x 250 mm, with Goerz Hyper 50mm f3.5 lens, pair of wooden magazines, metal and wood crank handle, leather carry handle.
The Sterling Camera Company was founded in 1911 by Leon Wagner who created his own cameras in order to shoot films for his production company—including the first feature film that still exists: Richard the III, which was filmed in 1912. The company changed it's name to the Sterling Camera and Film Company in 1913, so this camera would predate that.
