FIRST EDITION, SIGNED AND INSCRIBED by Cushing on the front free endpaper: "Professor Borchardt, with the regards of Harvey Cushing. "The monograph was important for several reasons. It was the first detailed account that he had given of a special group of intracranial tumors other than the pituitary, and it also recorded the progress that had occurred in neurosurgical technique since 1908 when he wrote the monograph for W.
