A 24-PLATE IRON SUJI KABUTO

Edo period (1615-1868), 18th century
Forged in russet-iron with a four-stage iron tehen kanamono on the crown and a single iron shinodare on the front plate, fitted with a five-lame shikoro laced in blue kebiki style ending in fukigaeshi applied with printed leather, fusegumi, shakudō fukurin and gilt-brass plum-blossom heraldic crests, the gilt-brass maedate of the heraldic crests matching those on the fukigaeshi
With a Tokubetsu Kichō Shiryō (Important Material) certificate # 1058 issued by the Nihon Katchū Bugu Kenkyū Hozon Kai (Society for the Study and Preservation of Armor), dated March 22, 1987
