A FINE GOLD-LACQUER WARABE GUSOKU

Edo period (1615-1868), 18th/19th century
Entirely lacquered gold and laced in purple with orange highlights, the lowest lame of each component applied with a gilt-metal plate pierced with a design of pine trees; the eboshinari kabuto finished with a textured surface and fitted with a three-lame shikoro, the fukigaeshi applied with printed leather and a gilt-metal heraldic crest in mitsudomoe (triple whorl) design, the gilt-metal maedate also of mitsudomoe design; the russet-lacquer sarubō with a three-lame yodarekake attached with printed leather; the nimai okegawa dō laced in kebiki style, with printed leather trimmed with fusegumi on the munaita, the cuirass fitted with seven sections of four-lame kusazuri; chūsode; tsutsu gote; Iyo haidate with the lowest lames separated into two smaller sections; tsubo suneate; one storage box; no armor stand
