AN ARMOR WITH A NUINOBE DŌ

Edo period (1615-1868), 18th century
Lacquered black and laced in dark blue, comprising a 32-plate suji kabuto fitted with a five-lame Hineno shikoro ending in small fukigaeshi decorated with family crests in gold hiramaki-e, the front mounted with a gold-lacquer maedate formed as a radiant sun; a russet-iron ressei menpō fitted with a chainmail yodarekake; a nimai nuinobe dō with seven sections of five-lame lacquered-leather kusazuri, the lowest lame trimmed in horse hair; a pair of kote of forearm plates on chainmail; Etchū haidate and tsutsu suneate; with one armor stand; no storage box
