ATTRIBUTED TO MIYAMOTO KANENORI (1830-1926)

A Shin-shintō Katana
Late Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1865
Honzukuri, iorimune chūgissaki, toriizori forged in itame hada mixed with flowing masame hada, the tempered edge gunome midare in nie with sunagashi and tobiyaki finishing in a notare komi saki hakeru bōshi, the ōsuriage tang with one hole and kiri file marks, 28 1/4in (71.8cm) long, with a one-piece gilt-copper habaki, in a wood shirasaya storage scabbard
With Kantei certificate no. 18269 issued by the Nihon Tōken Hozon Kai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Sword), dated April 26, 2015
