Sugata (configuration): naginatazukuri
Kitae (forging pattern): itame hada
Hamon (tempering pattern): kosuguha mixed with komidare in nie
Horimono (carving): naginatahi on both sides
Nakago (tang): ōsuriage with kiri file marks, two holes and signed Bishū no Osafune Morimoto
Habaki (collar): one-piece, silver-foil
Nagasa (length from tip to beginning of tang): 22 5/8in (57.4cm)
Motohaba (width at start of tempered edge): 1in (2.2cm)
In a shirasaya (wood storage scabbard)
The 19th-century koshira-e comprising a black-lacquer ribbed saya mounted with matching Nanban-style gilt-metal fittings decorated with foliate scroll in relief and inlaid with colored stones, the tsuka mounted with menuki formed as a spray of flowers
