FIVE SETS OF MENUKI

Edo period (1615-1868), 17th to 18th century
The first set shakudō, boldly modeled as two gamboling shishi (Chinese mythical lions); with a Hozon Tōsōgu (Sword Fitting Worthy of Preservation) certificates # 4011686 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kyōkai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword) dated February 24, 2017, identifying the set as Kyō Kinkō work; the second shakudō, as sea shells; the third shakudō, as flowers, fruits, and leaves; the fourth shakudō, copper, and gold, as a demon mask and an Okame mask; the fifth shakudō and gold as two gambolling shishi; with two wood storage boxes (7)
