Chiseled in relief and with applied gold foil depicting a mass of seashells; with a Hozon Tōsōgu (Sword Fitting Worthy of Preservation) certificate # 458680 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kyōkai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword) dated October 13, 2009 certifying the piece as early Gotō-school work, and with a double wood storage box (2)
