Edo period (1615-1868), 18th century
Of shakudō (copper-gold alloy) punched with nanako granulation, chiseled in relief and with inlay of gold and silver depicting scenes from the twelfth-century wars between the Taira and Minamoto, signed Yokoya Tomosada (Haynes 10058, but the certificate also provides his life dates), with Hozon Tōsōgu (Sword Fitting Worthy of Preservation) certificate # 4002444 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kyōkai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword) dated April 24, 2013, with a wood storage box (2)
