A Shakudō and Enamel Tsuba
Edo period (1615-1868), 18th century
Almost circular and with a fitted rim (also of shakudō), chiseled with a radiating pattern and worked in gold and enamels with small kiri (paulownia), kiku (chrysanthemum) and other mon (crests); with a Tokubetsu Hozon Tōsōgu (Sword Fitting Especially Worthy of Preservation) certificate # 2003171 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kyōkai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword) dated February 26, 2016, and with a wood storage box (2)
