Ka Nonanona. Honolulu: April 30, 1844-March 18, 1845.
8vo (226 x 142 mm). Volume 4, Nos 1-24. Illustrated with wood engravings and woodcuts. Bound together in modern quarter morocco over speckled boards, gilt-lettered spine label. No. 13 with some tears and repairs, occasional browning and stray spots.

Rare run of this early Honolulu-printed Hawaiian-language periodical with the Proverbs 6:6 quote on the masthead: "E ka mea hiamoe, e hele oe i ka nonanona,e nana i kona aoao a e hoonaauao iho." Translated: "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise." Forbes 1288.
