Footnotes

Danish born Carl Poul Petersen (1895-1977) apprenticed with Georg Jensen 1908-1913, later marrying Jensen's daughter, Inger, in 1922. The couple moved to Montreal in 1929 where Petersen became the master silversmith for Henry Birks & Sons. Petersen created his own firm in 1944. This lot exemplifies Jensen impact on the silversmith's style.
