A collection of early ephemera featuring Steve Prefontaine, including: a rare color fold-out program to the April 23, 1972 Twilight Meet at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, this meet being notable for Steve Prefontaine breaking a 4 minute mile and interestingly, pole-vaulter Tinker Hatfield who would go on to work for Nike as the lead designer of Air Jordan sneakers; an October, 1974 edition of Track & Field News picturing Pre on the cover; a copy of Racing Techniques, 1972 picturing Pre on the cover; a 1977 Sportscaster's Track and Field trading card of Steve Prefontaine, his earliest trading card; and a ticket stub to the 1971 U.S. vs. USSR World All Stars Meet in which Pre set the record in the 5000 meters, encapsulated and graded by PSA VG-EX 4. Largest: 11 x 8 1/2 in.
