With nearly 500 lots on offer, Bonhams' first Fine & Rare Wine & Spirits auction in London of the autumn season has strength and depth across a wide range of wines and vintages to tempt buyers at all price points.

The morning session (lots 1-241) commences with a treasure trove of rare Krug, Bollinger RD and Alfred Gratien champagne from a deceased estate. Clarets – vintages 1929 to 2015 follow; incorporating a marvellous private collection of highest quality Bordeaux mainly from the much-admired 1982 vintage (lots 54-75). Other highlights include 6 bottle cases of 1998 Petrus and Le Pin 2000; White Bordeaux and dessert wines follow including 10 bottles of extremely rare Château Gilette Doux from the fabulous 1947 vintage. The morning session concludes with a remarkable cellar of mature wines from a private collection as well as top wines from Italy and Spain

The afternoon session begins at 2.30 (lots 242 to 486) with nearly 100 lots of fine red and white Burgundy; highlights include a dozen Volnay, Taillepieds 2005 from Domaine de Montille & a single bottle of Corton-Charlemagne 2000 from Coche-Dury; a fine selection of lots from the Rhone, Loire and Alsace together with attractive bottles from the New World follow; the wine section closes with fortified wines featuring an distinguished collection of top port shippers from the cellars of a Cambridge College; our auction concludes with a spectacular range of rarities from Armagnac and Cognac, lots 436-486.
