A Sèvres bleu-céleste ground cup and saucer (gobelet 'bouillard' et soucoupe), dated 1759

Painted by François-Joseph Aloncle, of the first size, each reserved with gilt floral and foliate cartouches enclosing vignettes of birds in landscapes, gilt dentil borders to the rims, the cup: 6cm high; the saucer: 14.1cm diam., interlaced LL monograms enclosing date F in blue, painter's marks for Aloncle and incised marks (very minor flaking to gilt rims) (2)
