Provenance:
European Private Collection since the 1980s

A similar plate in the Victoria & Albert Museum is published in L. Frescobaldi (ed.), Amici di Doccia Quaderni VII (2013), pp. 102-109, where it is suggested that this kind of decoration (called 'a paesini' or 'a paesini con figure') was probably painted by Ferdinando Ammannati.
