A Brass-bound Mahogany Medicine Chest, English, mid 19th century,

the brass lid plaque engraved the Honble. Mr Dyneley, with hinged lid opening to fifteen glass medicine bottles of various sizes, drawer to the base with recessed brass handle, opening to three niches containing small glass bottles, measuring tubes, ointment containers, glass pestle and mortar, and brass scales and weights, the chest with recessed brass carrying handles to the sides,
10 1/4in x 11 3/4in x 8 1/4in (26cm x 30cm x 21cm)

Footnotes

The present chest can be dated to the mid-19th century, due to the brass fittings across the chest and lid. Until the 1820's, drawer pull handles and inlays were typically ivory, but later examples used brass as a stronger alternative.
