A Mahogany Medicine Chest, English, mid-19th century,

the hinged lid opening to a group of twelve glass medicine bottles of various sizes, the drawer to the base with holding pin opening to brass scales and weights, glass pestle and mortar, and additional small glass containers, the chest with brass carrying handles to the sides,
9in x 10 1/2in x 7 1/2in (23cm x 26.5cm x 19cm)

Footnotes

The designs of medicine chests likely evolved from tea caddies imported into England in the 18th and 19th centuries. The sliding covers over the drawer are similar to the 'secret drawers' of earlier examples. For a similar chest, see A.M. Young, Antique Medicine Chests, London 1994, p.29, fig. 18.
