A George IV silver model of a Scottish castle

part marked, no maker's marks, London circa 1822
Cast in the shape of a traditional Scottish castle, a rocky knoll beneath embossed with floral and foliate decoration, high and low relief details including windows and crumbling brickwork, with a ruined wall surround, two screws beneath to slot the model into the wood base, height 10.5cm, weight 12.3oz.

Footnotes

This is a typical shaped Scottish fortress, possibly Neidpath Castle in the Scottish Borders. Modelled as a dramatic finial, it possibly would have adorned a table centrepiece as its crowning glory.
