signed Blunt LONDON, of standard Culpeper design, focusing by draw tube, tripod on square mahogany base with drawer fitted with most extant accessories including five objectives, ocular, sprung substage, cone, fishplate, tube, stage forceps with removable ivory element, livebox and bone slides, in mahogany pillar case,
the microscope 14 1/2 (37cm) high

Footnotes

The signature Blunt may refer to several instrument makers operating in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, including Charles Blunt and Edward Blunt. Both were opticians recorded as operating in Cornhill, London during this period.
