A Japanese silver cigar box featuring Mount Fuji
maker Kobayashi Shoun, Japan circa 1925
Of rectangular form, the lift-off gilt lined silver cover decorated using the Japanese technique iro-e takazogan, featuring a high relief inlay using gold, copper and silver against a patinated bronze, illustrating a snow-capped Mount Fuji rising above clouds, the silver box as a whole highly polished with plain lines, the interior lined in dark wood, all raised on four low feet, height 8cm, length 24cm, weight total 52oz.
