A late 19th century German large silver table nef
Hanau, unattributed maker's mark
Modelled in two parts, the hull raised on four foliate pierced wheels, the removable deck raised on four mythological style dolphin feet, with two masts in full sail flanking a central turret, two-tiered afterdeck with windows surmounted with another turret, the bow with a stepped deck and bow-spit with anchor, the stern with stylised head rudder, embossed sides and simulated wood texture, the whole with protruding cannons, applied with figures on the deck, crows nest and rigging, height 66.5cm, length 72cm, weight 183oz.
