An impressive late 17th/early 18th Century needlework casket

of rectangular form, the whole decorated in coloured silks with geometric chequered and formalised foliate panels worked in satin stich and bound with silver braid, the sides with silvered metal carrying handles, the front with pierced escutcheons and hinges, the hipped top with hinged cover enclosing a compartmented interior, fitted two bottles above a pair of doors enclosing various drawers, on ball feet, with key, 29cm high, 25cm wide, 18cm deep, together with a plush covered stand with perspex cover, 36cm high, 31cm wide, 26cm deep overall
