A pair of unusual and impressive French gilt bronze and champlevé mounted Algerian beige onyx jardinieres in the Gothic taste

possibly attributable to Ferdinand Barbedienne or Eugène Cornu, probably 19th century
each of rectangular form with pierced formalised scrolling rims and applied fleur-de-lys plaques, the fronts with three arcaded lancet arched mirror inset panels with foliate cast scroll pierced tracery, the frames with applied polychrome foliate enamel plaques and inset coloured glass cabochons interspersed by reeded columns, the corners with plain onyx columns, all with confirming foliate capitals, the sides similarly with single lancet arched mirror inset panels, the central shaped aprons with cast oval monograms, each with a later inset liner, 58cm high, 79cm wide, 41cm deep (2)
