Pattern 320 was the most expensive pattern in the Tea Book. A teapot and cover of the pattern is illustrated by Barrett and Thorpe, Derby Porcelain (1971), pl.155. The painting of the marks corresponds to examples of William Cooper's early crossed batons marks illustrated by Sir Stephen Mitchell, The Marks on Chelsea-Derby and Early Crossed-Batons Useful Wares (2007), pl. 94. Around ten examples of this most desirable of patterns turned up at Derby in November 1877 according to paper labels found on other pieces from the service.
