An engraved steel snuff grater together with a collection of pipes and a walnut and brass pipe case

The snuff grater with an engraved cover decorated with a running hound, the pipe case with an hexagonal and spiral twist handle, two brass pipe heads, a steel pipe, possibly German and a brass novelty pipe with a boot bowl, 5cm wide, 10cm deep, 16cm high (1 1/2in wide, 3 1/2in deep, 6in high) (6)

Footnotes

Clay pipes became fashionable from the late 16th century to the early 20th century, with elaborate designs created for more wealthy smokers in the 19th century which would have been stored in the above pipe case.
