THE LONG BRANCH SALOON.

Albumen print cabinet card, 6 3/4 x 4 inches laid down to 6 7/8 x 4 1/2 inches, interior view of the Long Branch Saloon in Dodge City, KS, c.1886, lacking photographer's imprint, corners bumped, some thumbing overall.

Notations on the verso date this image to 1886 and identify a few of the subjects, including City Marshal Clark Chapman at the end of the bar, Lo Warren behind the bar, and porter Isaac Peck between the two. A group of 7 customers sit together at the far end of the room. The Long Branch Saloon was one of the most notorious bars in Dodge City, the site of several deadly gunfights and shootouts during the last part of the 19th century.
