JAMES MASTERSON CABINET CARD.

MASTERSON, JAMES. 1855-1895. Albumen print cabinet card portrait, 5 5/8 x 3 3/8 inches laid down to 6 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch board, head and shoulder portrait by D.B. CHASE, c.1885, with photographer's imprint at lower mount and verso ("Portraits from Chase's New Studio ... Trinidad, Colo."), thumbsoiling to mount.
Provenance: purchased Las Vegas, 1980 (vendor unrecorded).

Bat Masterson's younger brother James was also a buffalo hunter turned lawman, serving as the assistant marshal of Dodge City in 1878.
