the pale cotton pyjamas labelled TM Lewin, purchased for the MGMM production by costume designer Diana Moseley, accompanied by a letter of provenance from her and another signed by music video co-director David Mallet
The pyjamas are seen at the end of the MGMM Production of Loving The Alien (at 4.20mins on Youtube), where David Bowie is lying in a wrought iron bed wearing an identical pair. According to costume designer Diana Moseley a polarisation of the film creates the effect that Bowie's skin is blue and the pyjamas are seen as yellow. In order for this effect to be realised a pale blue pair of pyjamas were required to transverse the colour. They have been kept in Moseley's possession since the filming of the video.
Sold on behalf of the Friends of Monkton Arts, to raise funds for local community projects in Ryde, Isle of Wight, including the construction of four Esplanade Music Bandstands.
