A black-and-gold lacquer four-case inro (portable medicine case) with stag-antler netsuke
Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), 19th century
The black-lacquer ground decorated in gilt low relief with pine branches and arabesques, unsigned, 7.6cm (3in) high; the round pierced cord fastener of stag-antler; the netsuke stag-antler and of hollowed rectangular form, with pierced decoration of a Buddha's hand citron, unsigned, 3.1cm (1¼in) high.
