An ivory netsuke of a monkey and young with a persimmon

Attributed to Masatami, Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), 19th century
The parent seated, holding a magnifying glass to inspect a beetle crawling over a large persimmon, the infant monkey clambering on the parent's back and crying out, the eyes inlaid; unsigned. 3.9cm (1½in) high.
