Two ivory figure netsuke
Edo period (1615-1868), 18th to early/mid 19th century
The first a seated demon grimacing and grasping his bent right leg, the details inlaid, unsigned, 3.9cm (1½in) high; the second a demon crouched over a seal in the form of a large stylised auspicious character, paying penance by polishing the surface, signed Kotei, 3.8cm (1½in) long. (2).
