Four various netsuke and an ivory cord fastener
One by Kono Ryumin and Asama Tenmin, Edo period (1615-1868) to Meiji era (1868-1912), 19th century
The first a kagamibuta with an ivory bowl, the shibuichi plate inlaid with Enma-o admiring the image of a beauty, signed Ryumin with a kao for the plate and Tenmin o (Old man Tenmin) with a kao for the inlay, 4.2cm (1 5/8in) diam.; the second an ivory smiling demon mask, signed Masayuki, 4.5cm (1½in) high; the third an ivory Noh mask of Beshimi ('Clamped Mouth'), signed Tanaka, 4cm (1 9/16in) high; the fourth a lacquered wood Noh mask of Hannya, unsigned, 4cm (1 9/16in) high; the cord fastener in the form of a naturalistically rendered skull, unsigned, 1.5cm (9/16in) high.
