Four ivory figure netsuke
Edo period (1615-1868) to Meiji era (1868-1912), 19th century
The first a priest shaving the head of an obeisant demon, signed Shokyusai, 3.9cm (1½in) high; the second a demon leaning over a partially buried pot with a hoe, signed Mitsumasa, 3.7cm (1 7/16in) long; the third Enma-o seated with a demon at his side, signed Hounsai, 3.9cm (1½in) high; the fourth a horse-mounted warrior looking over his shoulder, signed Minkoku, 4.7cm (1 7/8in) long.
