Four ivory figure netsuke
Edo period (1615-1868) to Meiji era (1868-1912), 19th century
The first of okimono-style depicting two wrestling demons, a club resting beside them, the eyes inlaid, signed Gyokukazu, 5cm (2in) long; the second Raijin and his son Raitaro making a large drum, the drum studs inlaid, unsigned, 2.9cm (1 1/8in) long; the third three demons puzzled by an oversized pipe case, tobacco pouch, and netsuke, unsigned, 2.9cm (1 1/8in) long; the fourth a bathing demon being scrubbed down by an attendant, his wife bringing more water, signed Gyokushu, 2.7cm (1 1/16in) long.
