Two ivory netsuke of Shoki the Demon-queller
Edo period (1615-1868) to Meiji era (1868-1912), 18th to 19th century
The first Shoki grappling with a Chinese mythical lion, the lion's open mouth containing a loose ball, unsigned, 3.2cm (1¼in) long; the second Shoki standing and playing a flute, signed Tadatane, 3.5cm (1½in) high. (2).
