An ivory netsuke of a demon with a mortar and pestle

Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), 19th century
The demon seated, balancing one side of the conical mortar with his right foot, both hands gripping a pestle to grind; inscribed on a paddle Tomokazu. 4.5cm (1¾in) long.
