A good furnished English dolls' house circa 1840-50

Carpenter-made and with original finishes, the exterior of two bays and three storeys, the windows and doors with cream-coloured dressings set against red brickwork, the interior unusually decorated with patterned glazed chintzes, the windows with original curtains and blinds, the kitchen with fitted dresser and tinplate range, the extensive furnishings including fireplaces by Evans and Cartwright, a bed by Rock and Graner, a Gerhard Söhlke sofa and a number of gilt metal pieces by Erhard, standing on the original base with two drawers to contain additional furnishings, 132cm high including base

It is unusual to find a dolls' house in such original condition without over-painting or re-decoration. Some of the contents are contemporary in date, others dating from the later 19th century.
