Footnotes
Captured in the artist's signature style from the early 1960s, this captivating tempera was used as a poster for the music competition and "Manos Hadjidakis" Award ceremony hosted at the Kentrikon theatre in Athens on December 16, 1962. Conceived and funded by the famous Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis, and organized by the prestigious Athens Technological Institute led by internationally acclaimed architect and city planner Constantinos Doxiadis, this contest launched in Greece the work of avant-garde music composers residing or studying abroad, including Iannis Xenakis, Anestis Logothetis and Nikos Mamangakis.
"Moralis is the last nobleman of true painting. And a friend of mine. He is one of the few whose approval or rejection of my actions I take into account."
