A PAIR OF PLACARDS FOR THE PREMIERE OF IN THE LAND OF THE HEAD HUNTERS.
Casino Theater / B'way and 39th St. / Commencing Monday Afternoon, Dec. 7 / Two Performances Daily. [New York: 1914.] Lithographic poster in black and red, 233 x 1016 mm, with decorative border featuring native designs, small closed tears at upper margin, light creasing and toning.
WITH: another copy.
Provenance: Purchased by Dr. Billy Utley from Manford "Mag" Magnuson.
These placards were likely produced to supplement posters with venue and exhibition date information. Though they are more minimal in their design, they still incorporate deliberate Curtis touches, like the elegant red border that surrounds the text and incorporates a carved mask design at the upper center.
