Provenance: Sir Henry Dermot Daly (1821-1895), from 1861 until 1871 commander of the Central India horse and political assistant at Angur for western Malwa, when he was appointed agent to the governor-general for central India at Indore, and opium agent in Malwa until his retirement in 1882. Daly College at Indore was named in his honour; Sir Hugh Daly (1860-1939); by family descent to present owner.
