Join your esteemed host, Professor Michael Clarke, former Director General of the Royal United Services Institute and Specialist Advisor to the Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy, as he shares his wealth of knowledge on the Battle of Waterloo and compares the tactics of Napoleon and Wellington during the 11 hours of fighting that changed the course of history. The talk will be followed by dinner in the Club's dining room.

Professor Michael Clarke is the former Director General of the Royal United Services Institute – the oldest surviving defence think tank in the world, founded by The Duke of Wellington in 1831. He is also a Professor of Defence Studies at King's College London and at the University of Exeter. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Defence Studies and a Specialist Adviser in Parliament. He writes on military and defence matters and his next book, to be published in 2022, is Great British Commanders: A Study in the Art of Success.
